Before you cook

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces raw boneless skinless chicken breast (340 g, cut into 1/2-inch strips Thawed in the refrigerator; not frozen.)
  • 3/4 cup dry long-grain white rice (Check package labels; use the specified dietary version and check additional allergens and cross-contact notices.)
  • 2 cups green beans (trimmed)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 3/4 cups water
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine salt

Cooking instructions

  1. Combine the dry long-grain white rice with 1 1/2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, cover, cook on low for 15 minutes and rest off heat for 5 minutes.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet on medium-high. Add the raw boneless skinless chicken breast and fine salt; cook for 6–8 minutes, turning, until every strip reaches 74°C/165°F. Transfer to a clean plate.
  3. Lower the heat to medium. Add the green beans, garlic and remaining 1/4 cup water. Cover for 4 minutes, then uncover and cook for 2 minutes until tender.
  4. Return the chicken and its cooked juices to the skillet for 1 minute. Serve alongside the fluffed rice.
